Wacław Masełko was born on 24th October, 1943 in Hodowica near Lviv. In 1945, together with his family, he settled down in Jagodno, near Wrocław. After he completed elementary school in Brochów, he started studying in basic vocational school at ul. Poznańska in Wrocław. After 6-month job tenure in Polish State Railways (Polskie Koleje Państwowe), he became employed there as a permanent employee. In 1967 he married Mirosława Pawłowska, who lived in Żerniki Wrocławskie at that time. In 1974 he started working in MPK in Wrocław where he was a bus driver until 2003. He participated in strike that took place at bus depot no. 7 in Wrocław that commenced on 26th August, 1980. He was a member of Enterprise Strike Committee. He was not politically repressed during martial law. He was full of hope while participating in the June elections, but was not involved in Solidarity activities. He has been, however, its member since 1980. At present, he is on retirement.
