Apostolate even behind the prison bars
Sr. Ľudmila Marta Červená was born on May 1, 1954 in Žilina. She spent her childhood in the village of Bánová. After she completed the elementary school, since 1970 her steps gradually led to a membership in the secret religious order of Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. On May 27, 1983, within the „Operation Whirl“ she had to undergo a house search and an interrogation by the State Security in Tvrdošín. Few days later, precisely on April 1, 1983 the state authorities accused her and arrested. She was imprisoned at the Institute for Execution of Punishment in Žilina. Thanks to the general social pressure she was released on May 11, 1983, after 40 days of imprisonment. Recently she has been working at the religious house in Ľubochňa.
