The death of a partisan and patrolling with the Nazis affected him at the end of the war
Jan Marek was born on 10 January 1928 in Sedlejov to a farmer family. He started to study at elementary school there and in 1939 he started to study at a town school in Telč. At the end of the war when war convalescents were staying in the village, he had to patrol the places of air defence with the Nazis. In 1945, he started to study at the People´s school of agriculture in Dačice. In 1950 he went to do his military service in Chomutov, and he served with the scouts. After his military service, he got married in 1952 and had two children. He worked in the United Agricultural Cooperative until his retirement. In 2022, he lived in his native home in Sedlejov.
